LA BOTTEGA DEI SAPORI

“I like eating out in La Bottega Della Pizza in Sint-Gillis/Saint-Gilles. It is run by a friend of mine, Roberto. He has Sicilian roots. The pizzas there are superb. Recently Roberto opened a new establishment, La Bottega Dei Sapori, right next to the Koninklijk Circus/Cirque Royal, where you can get pasta and Italian sandwiches. The food there is just as delicious as in La Bottega Della Pizza. But the selection is different.”

DE ROUILLE ET D’OS
“I am a fan of Jacques Audiard. His films are both direct and poetic. I was really impressed by Un prophète and De battre mon cœur s’est arrêté. I’m curious about his latest film, De rouille et d’os. I love the way Audiard directs his actors. I wonder how he went about things with Marion Cotillard in De rouille et d’os.”

STANLEY KUBRICK
“‘Stanley Kubrick: Photographer’ still has a few weeks to go at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts. I’m keen to see the exhibition. It presents photographs from the time when Kubrick was still a professional reporter. Hitchcock and Coppola also worked as photographers before devoting themselves to film. I believe you can see Kubrick’s experience as a photographer in his films. They are full of beautiful images. All you have to do is press the pause button and you have wonderful photographs. I love that relationship between photography and film.”

DOUBLE DRAGON
“Every Friday night we have Double Dragon parties at Mr Wong. The crème de la crème of Belgian and international electro plays at them. Over the summer months we organise the after-party for the De Stad Apéros Urbains. You get in free with an Apéro armband. The Apéro Club leads into the Double Dragon parties. We have a really great line-up for 15 June. First up at the turntables is Jean Montevideo, singer of the group Montevideo. That’s followed by a DJ set by Montevideo’s guitarist Tubescreamer. And it’s all rounded off by Alex Palmer. It’s going to be an unmissable evening!”
