The very last day of the Kaaitheater calendar year is reserved for its audiences, who will be rewarded for all the attention they gave throughout 2012 with the fantastic end-of-year Residents’ Party. The party is preceded by an evening’s worth of talk show with dinner, featuring interviews with the Kaaitheater’s four “artists in residence” for the next subsidy period: Mette Ingvartsen, Eleanor Bauer, Ivo Dimchev, and Kris Verdonck.

Van hedendaagse klassieke muziek stellen criticasters vaak dat ze voor het publiek onbegrijpelijk is, of enkel gericht op een kleine incrowd. Ictus geeft hen met Faune zowel vormelijk als inhoudelijk lik op stuk, met een weloverwogen selectie van Debussy, Schönberg en Verrières.

Sobre magie au rendez-vous ? La chorégraphe Carlotta Sagna s’essaie au spectacle pour enfants, avec une histoire où une fille danse tout le temps et où la neige tombe… à voir dès 5 ans.

Inspirée par le Japon et la figure de l’Obake (âme, esprit ou fantôme ?), la danseuse Rosalba Torres Guerrero a senti la nécessité de créer sa première chorégraphie, Pénombre, en duo avec le vidéaste Lucas Racasse et ses écrans vidéo de 12 mètres.

On Saturday 8 December, dance company Ultima Vez will throw an all-day party, celebrating their new home in Molenbeek (Zwarte Vijversstraat 97 rue des Étangs Noirs). There will be workshops for children and their parents, guided walks in the neighbourhood, open rehearsals (of What the Body Does Not Remember, the 25-year-old debut performance by Wim Vandekeybus and Ultima Vez), previews (by SOIT and Vincent Glowinski (aka Bonom) & Jean-Francois Roversi), and concerts (by Fanfakids, Spookhuisje, and nieuwZwart Trio with Mauro Pawlowski)!

De eerste editie van de Kunstendag voor Kinderen in Vlaanderen wil in gezinsverband de banden tussen kinderen en kunst aanhalen. Het levert ook in Brussel een aantal unieke projecten op.

Kinderen tot 12 jaar in contact brengen met echte kunst en echte kunstenaars: dat is de bedoeling van de eerste editie van de Kunstendag voor Kinderen. In Russische Rolmops kruipt theatermaker/kunstenares Hanneke Paauwe daarvoor zelfs op een boot.

On 22 November it will be five years since the death of the world-renowned French choreographer Maurice Béjart. He became a big name during his time in Brussels, where, from 1960 on, his Ballet of the 20^th Century gave the genre a new impetus with productions that could even fill Vorst Nationaal/Forest National. It was Béjart, in fact, who opened that venue on 8 October 1970.

Il y a plusieurs spectacles sans paroles et donc accessibles à tous dans cette 8^e édition du Festival International Jeunes Publics Météores. Lignes de cordes, relecture dansée du mythe d’Ariane, TAG à l’ambiance hip-hop, les bricolages burlesques de The Wood... Mais aussi quatre productions du Tof Théâtre, qui fête ses 25 ans.

L’art et le kitsch s’associent merveilleusement bien. Au Beursschouwburg, on sortira les boules à facettes, les mini-shorts et les perruques pour la deuxième édition de RollerMadness.
